Ch 4

Chapter 4
Alex opened up the laptop and opened up a map, “Ok so here is where the airport is, and my dad’s safe house somewhere around here.’ he pointed to a spot on the screen, “What do you mean by somewhere? Don’t you know where your dad’s safe house is?” “Yes and no, you see it wouldn’t be a safe house if everyone knew where it was. He has multiple ones and thing we need to figure out which one he is at right now.” “Alright and how do we do that?” “Easy, he doesn’t go to these two here in spring,” he pointed to a certain area, “and these are right next to each other so we can check both.” I nodded and looked to the map. “So what are we suppose to do when we find your dad?” “Not sure, I guess give him the notes and explain the situation to him.” ‘Sounds like a plan.”
“If you guys don’t mind I can tell you where your father is. Oh and sorry for eavesdropping… again.” “Wait you can?” Alex said glaring at Aden, “Yeah if I have figured this out enough your Michael’s son and um I am not quite sure who you are related to…” “I am Hannah Conner, Simon’s daughter.” “Wow so you’re the great Simon Conner daughter, I had only heard stories of your dad and mom, just not a lot about you.” “So what is your story?” Alex said looking kind of worried, “Me well I am Gabriel’s son.” “Gabriel?” “The tall skinny one in the photo.” Alex said referring back to the day before, “Wait you’re his son?” “Yeah, and please don’t hold me to my father’s action. You know the whole ego manic thing with trying to over throw your father…” “Ok.” “Wait, do you not know what your fathers’ did?” I looked over to Alex who was almost just as clueless as I was, “Our fathers’ were thieves, and they held grand thefts. Legend has it there is even a vault holding it all, though my dad didn’t know where. Apparently Hannah here her father is the only one who knows where it is and he is the only one with the key. So I guess you could say we are all connected to each other’s past.” “Yeah I guess so.” “Now back to you leading us to my dad’s safe house.” “Well that is simple, I kind of work with your dad, almost like an apprentice.” “Apprentice, how so?” “I help keep things quiet, clean up the houses, run errands; which is was what I was doing in the US.” “What business does my father have in the US?” “According to him there was a spy watching over Hannah’s family, but when I got there everyone was gone.” “Wait there was a spy watching over us?” “According to Alex’s dad yes, do you recognize this woman?” he handed me a photo.
“Yes, yes I do. That is Penelope, she was our maid.” “Right under your father’s nose she was in communication with someone the entire time, we just don’t know who.” “You would think my father would have suspected something.” “I think he started to, I doubt your father being who he is would look over that.” Alex said putting hand on my shoulder and smile at me, then the seatbelt sign went on and the plane shortly landed after that. Then we made our way to the safe house.

Chapter 3 of A Secret Past

I woke to see Alex fiddling around with the laptop. I looked out the window to see what was before the ocean now to be a wide stretch of green lush grass. I looked over to Alex, “Wow it is so beautiful!” I looked back to the window, “Yes yo—it is very beautiful.” I looked back over at him but he was already looking the other way. “How much longer do you think it will be until we get there?” “Two more hours.” A voice from the row in front of us said. I looked up to see a guy leaning over his seat, he had black face eating hair, snake bites piercing, ice blue eyes and his ears were gauged. “Sorry I didn’t mean to seem like I was eavesdropping it’s just I am up here alone and it has been a very long ride.” “Oh it is ok, I totally understand.” “The name is Aden.” “Hannah, and this Alex.” I gestured over to Alex and he nodded. “So where are the two of you off to, if you don’t mind me asking?” “Oh just to visit his dad.” “Oh I see, asking for his blessing?” he pointed down to my ring, “Oh ha-ha, no this is my promise ring, and we are just friends.” “Oh that is good.” “It is, why?” “Well a pretty thing like you being engaged so young well it just isn’t right, well unless it was me you were engaged to.” He said with a smirk and winked at me, of course being me I blushed. I looked over to see Alex glaring at Aden, “So Hannah how old are you?” “Me? Oh I am seventeen, you?” “I just turn nineteen last week. How about you?” he looked over to Alex, “Twenty- one” “Wow your old, so you two are just friends right?” I looked over at Alex for an answer but he wasn’t a lot of help, “Yeah we’re just friends.” “Sweet deal, well this seat next to me is empty if you want to sit with me.” “No thanks, I need to talk to Alex about some things.” “Ok well if you change your mind I am up here.” I smiled then he turned and sat back down.
I turned to Alex, “Well people in Italy sure are friendly.” I chuckled, “A little too friendly for my taste,” he said still glaring at the back of Aden’s head, “don’t you think it was strange how he wanted to know all about us and where we were going?” he leaned in to my ear, “Hannah you have to remember that we are running from the people who took your father and anyone here could be a spy.” I pulled away, “Yeah even you.” “Why would I be a spy, your father told me in his note to take care of you and get you to see my dad?” “Yeah well haven’t you heard of a double agent?” I got up from my seat and started to walk pass him, “Where are you going?” “To go sit with Aden.” He tried to block me but I pushed past him and turned to sit next to Aden. “So I see you got bored with your little friend. Why don’t you see how much fun you can have with a real man.” he smirked and winked at me. Wow isn’t he full of himself, in my mind Alex is more of a man than he is. “Look, I am just here to talk.” “You say that now, but you will warm up to me in no time, you’ll see.” “Right… So do you live in Italy?” “Yeah, you?” “No, I am from the states.” “I should have known, because there is no way I would have missed a pretty face like yours before.” I laughed, “Thanks, well where I am from not many guys would say that.” “No?” “No. I wasn’t considered pretty at my old school.” “Well I think you are more than pretty, I think you are beautiful, and so does your friend back there.” “Wait, what?” “You should have heard what he was saying to you as you were sleeping. That was why I thought you two were engaged because of the way he was talking to you.” “Really? Wow and I was so mean to him just now.” “I don’t want to lose you but, I think you should go talk to him.” I smiled and walked back to my seat to find Alex wasn’t there. I sat down and looked at the seat next to me; I looked to the window and stared out it until I felt a shift in the seat next to me. I looked next to me to see Alex sitting next to me, “Where did you go?” “I had to go, not like you would care where I was though. So what did you get tired of Aden?” “Look I do care and no about Aden. I just found out why you were so annoyed with Aden besides the fact you didn’t trust him.” “Oh?” “Yeah, he told me, about what happened when I was asleep last night, about what you said.” He looked down at his hands, “Wow he really is nosey.” “There is nothing to be embarrassed about it; I think it is sweet.” his head shot up and looked at me “Really? You really think I am sweet?” “Yeah, I really do.” He smiled and got out the laptop, “Well there are some things we need to talk about before we get off this plane.”

Ch 2

I looked out the window, “I hate flying…” I muttered under my breathe, “Me too.” Alex leaned in as he said it then reached over me and pulled down the shade. “So how long is this flight?” he laughed “Long, very long.” I laughed and pulled out my bag and pulled out the folder my dad had left me. Inside there were old photos, forms, profiles, emails, and phone numbers. I looked at the photos and I recognized my dad but he was with three other guys I have never seen before, one was short with big rim glasses, one was really tall and big he was also where a full face mask that only didn’t cover his mouth, and the last one was a wicked looking guy who was tall and skinny; my dad stood between the big one and the little one, he was a medium height wearing a mask that covered his eyes and he held some sort of weird looking cane, I touched the necklace my dad had given me and the symbol looked like the cane. Alex looked over to the photo and pointed at the big one, “That is my dad.” “Really?” “Yeah, and that little guy his name is, Ben he was the brains. My dad was the muscle I guess, your dad was the leader he could sneak around with out a sound or so I have heard from the stories.” “Wow, what about him?” I pointed at the tall skinny one, “Him well all I heard about him was he was like your dad, but not as good and that he tried to take over.” “Oh, so what did our dads do?” “I am not sure, my dad never really told me.” I looked back down at the photo and went on to the next and was shocked with what I saw. There was a photo of my mom, she was holding a gun and standing on a roof; she was wearing tight fitting jeans and cropped shirt that was under a jacket, her curly brown hair was flowing in the wind. “What is wrong?” “Huh?” he ran his finger up my face to catch a tear “Oh sorry… it is just I really miss my mom.” “I know how you feel, my mom died during my birth.” He took the photos and pulled up a photo that had his dad and a lady in a wedding dress holding hands and laughing. “She was pretty.” “Thanks.” We looked into each others eyes something felt so strange I couldn’t place my finger on it. He turned his head, “Well we should try to get some sleep.” “Yeah, we should.” I turned my head and opened the shade and stared out into the world and slowly drifted off into sleep.

A Secret Past Ch1

Ok so I have been writing again SHOCKER, and so here is what I got so far

Ch 1

Things haven’t been the same since, well since my mom died about four years ago, I was thirteen. My mom was great her name was Carmen, she was an inspector and she had so many great adventures, she even met my dad on one of her adventures. Her adventures came to an end when she was shot in a drive by. I still live with my dad, don’t get me wrong I love my dad but well he did lack certain knowledge when I came to girl stuff. Lucky we have Penelope, our maid and my closest friend, she has helped me through my awkward years and I owe so much to her. We live in a medium sized apartment in Nashville, Tennessee; I don’t know too many people here because we just moved here last month. I haven’t even met my neighbors yet. I guess I should describe myself a little, well I am seventeen, I have long brown hair that goes down to my waist, I have evergreen eyes, I am about five foot ten, and my name is Hannah.
I walked around the apartment in search for my laptop that I still haven’t found since we moved in. “Dad have you seen the laptop yet,” no answer “Dad?” still no answer “Penelope have you seen my dad?” “No ma’am, not since yesterday.” “Ok thanks.” I looked inside his room and he wasn’t there, but there was pieces of paper lead to a chest by his bed. I went over to the chest and there was a note behind it.
Hannah,
There is something I should have told you a long time ago, but I cannot tell you much. All I can tell you is that I love you and things are not as they seem. We moved here for a reason and that reason was to get way from trouble but it seems that it has found me once again. In this note I have left you a key, this key will open this chest. Inside you will find everything you need. I need to you to get away, far away. You need to pack and tell Penelope that you need to visit your uncle and you will be home soon. After you walk out the door you will be on the run and you will need help. Next door there is the son of a good friend of mine; his son’s name is Alex. Give him the note you find inside the chest and he will understand. I am sorry you must be involved in my mess.

Love you always,
Dad
I opened the chest to find a folder, my laptop, a note, CDs, a cell phone, a necklace with a weird symbol on it, and disks. I grabbed my old messenger bag from his closet and stuffed it all inside it. I went to my room and started to pack a bag with all I would be able to carry. I looked down the hall to see that Penelope had already gone to the store. I wrote her a note telling her of leaving to visit my uncle and that I did not know when I would be back. I walked out the door and walked down the hall to Alex’s door and knocked on it.
“Hello? Alex?” “Yeah, one minute!” just then the door opened, “can I help you?” “Yeah, I live next door and my father told me to talk to you.” “Ok?” “Can I come in?” “Sure why not.” He gestured me in, “It is a nice place you got here.” “Oh thanks.” I sat down at the table in his kitchen and he sat across from me. “So what brings you here?” “This,” I handed him the note “my father told me to give this to you and that you would know what to do.” He read the note and his eyes grew wider as he went on. “My father has told me this might happen someday.” “What? That what might happen?” “Your father was taken by some people him and my father used to work with. I have been trying for this for years but I never knew that you would be involved in this or that you even existed.” “So what exactly are you talking about?” “I can’t tell you too much for right now, mainly because I don’t know a lot but I will tell you some things in the cab.” “Cab?” “Yes, we need to get out of here as soon as we can.” He grabbed some things and led me out to the street and signaled for a cab. A cab pulled up and we got in. “So what do you know Alex?” “Well your father and mine did some things with a group of people back when he was younger, and now they have caught up with him now. My dad didn’t tell me much just that if some thing were ever to happen to your dad that I would have to go meet up with my father in Italy at his safe house. He had trained me with every thing he knows.” “So what do we do now?” “I have had a plane ticket on reserved but I can get another one on the way there.” He got on the phone and started to negotiate tickets, as I watched him I finally had time to observe him. He had shaggy brown hair, blue eyes, and he was a little scruffy. He got off the phone and smiled, “So tell me about you after all we are going to spending quite a bit of time together.” I laughed, “Well I am seventeen, and I just moved here not too long ago, I was hoping to go to college for art but right now I am not sure about anything right now. I really don’t know what else to say since you know so much about my family already. So why don’t you tell me about you?” “Ok, well I am twenty-one, I am a art major, I live on my own as you saw, and yeah I guess we find out more as we go along.” He smiled at me as we pulled up to the airport. “Oh wait, I don’t have a passport!” he chuckled, “No problem, let me see your laptop.” I pulled the laptop out and handed it to him. “There should be a program on here to help us with that, here it is! Smile!” I laughed and did as he said and next thing I knew I had a passport. I stepped out of the cab and he paid for it. He took my hand to show me the way to where our tickets were being held. We went through all of airport security and then to our flight and took our seats.
