Ch 2
I looked out the window, “I hate flying…” I muttered under my breathe, “Me too.” Alex leaned in as he said it then reached over me and pulled down the shade. “So how long is this flight?” he laughed “Long, very long.” I laughed and pulled out my bag and pulled out the folder my dad had left me. Inside there were old photos, forms, profiles, emails, and phone numbers. I looked at the photos and I recognized my dad but he was with three other guys I have never seen before, one was short with big rim glasses, one was really tall and big he was also where a full face mask that only didn’t cover his mouth, and the last one was a wicked looking guy who was tall and skinny; my dad stood between the big one and the little one, he was a medium height wearing a mask that covered his eyes and he held some sort of weird looking cane, I touched the necklace my dad had given me and the symbol looked like the cane. Alex looked over to the photo and pointed at the big one, “That is my dad.” “Really?” “Yeah, and that little guy his name is, Ben he was the brains. My dad was the muscle I guess, your dad was the leader he could sneak around with out a sound or so I have heard from the stories.” “Wow, what about him?” I pointed at the tall skinny one, “Him well all I heard about him was he was like your dad, but not as good and that he tried to take over.” “Oh, so what did our dads do?” “I am not sure, my dad never really told me.” I looked back down at the photo and went on to the next and was shocked with what I saw. There was a photo of my mom, she was holding a gun and standing on a roof; she was wearing tight fitting jeans and cropped shirt that was under a jacket, her curly brown hair was flowing in the wind. “What is wrong?” “Huh?” he ran his finger up my face to catch a tear “Oh sorry… it is just I really miss my mom.” “I know how you feel, my mom died during my birth.” He took the photos and pulled up a photo that had his dad and a lady in a wedding dress holding hands and laughing. “She was pretty.” “Thanks.” We looked into each others eyes something felt so strange I couldn’t place my finger on it. He turned his head, “Well we should try to get some sleep.” “Yeah, we should.” I turned my head and opened the shade and stared out into the world and slowly drifted off into sleep.
